About 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD), a progressive neuromuscular condition. At just 30, I was told there was nothing I could do—except take medication and accept decline. I felt powerless.
Like so many others, I turned to food for comfort, numbing myself with unhealthy habits. That only led to more suffering—relentless fatigue, chronic pain, digestive issues, and a growing list of medications. Stress became anxiety, and anxiety became depression. Yet, in all those years, no doctor ever spoke to me about the power of nutrition, stress management, or the mind-body connection.
For five years, I spiraled. Then, by what I can only describe as divine grace, something shifted. I refused to believe that my body had no ability to heal. I knew I had to take control. That single decision changed everything.
