Got published in "Forks Over Knives - Winter Issue"!

This Christmas day, I got a nice gift in the mail. It was the winter issue of "Forks over Knives" magazine that had my (Syed Abbas) personal health journey published in it :) You can buy the magazine at Amazon. It is published by the team that made the world famous health documentary by the same name "Forks over knives". This documentary changed my outlook towards foods and it's relation to health eight years ago and even though it took me few years to follow the recommendations 100%, I am so glad that I did as it has made a profound impact on my health. Thanks to this documentary, I changed my eating habits and the benefits I saw eventually lead me to become a certified health coach myself. Over the years, "Forks over Knives" has positively changed the lives of thousands of people all over the world by helping them reverse many diet and lifestyle related diseases using the whole foods plant based diet.


In addition to my personal story in the magazine, there are over 75 excellent plant based recipes that can be made at home easily. These are specially handy for those who would like to make a transition to a more whole foods plant based diet. This new year, make every attempt to add more whole plant based foods focusing on variety of vegetables, seasonal fruits, legumes (lentils/beans), whole grains and nuts/seeds. At the same time, avoiding or drastically reducing added oils/sugar, animal based foods and processed foods. You will see how see how fast your health will improve and weight goes down.


Very important: Spend some time daily to take care of your own mind. Reduce or eliminate the stress and gain deep peace by learning and practicing the SKY breath meditation. I can't recommend it enough. We spent so much money on things that we think makes us happy but after just few days they lose their appeal. Use the money to learn techniques like SKY that actually help calm your mind so you can enjoy things or people that are around you. Also, incorporate some yoga but don't just choose any kind of yoga. Lastly, to be able to continue on the path of health and wellness and to pass through challenging times, it is important to become a part of a holistic health group that will support you in your journey. Being alone on the health journey can be very tough and having people around you who care for you will help you stay motivated and on the path.
