Healing Power of Prayers, Blessings & Water

Updated: Feb 14, 2019

Growing up, I remember our grandmother giving us water that she had prayed upon / blessed. We were told that this water will help us become more smarter :) Being kids, we could not make much sense of this ritual but drank it anyways - specially if the exams were around the corner :)

Do prayers, blessings and water carry special healing powers ?

Masaru Emoto (A Japanese researcher) scientifically proved how human consciousness and by extension the vibrations that it generates have the ability to alter the molecular structure of water. In his ground breaking book "The Healing Power of Water" he clearly showed (by taking many high definition pictures using extremely powerful cameras), how the shape of water crystals changed depending on the nature and intensity of the words that were spoken. With loving and caring words, the crystals in water assumed breathtakingly beautiful geometric shapes. However, when nasty and angry words were spoken with intensity, the crystals assumed jagged / rough edges / pointed - almost spear like shapes.

What is the significance of water?

Human body is about 60 to 65% water. Along with breath, water acts as a carrier agent within the human body. Many of the major functions in the body such as detoxification, transportation of nutrients, removal of waste, removal of stress etc. happens because of this "transporter" nature of water.

If we routinely carry negative emotions, thoughts, or speak angry/bad words etc. the water element in our body will carry the vibrations generated by such acts to all of our cells. In fact, even the people around us will experience the same negative effects in their body. Just imagine for a second the harmful effects of billions of these tiny spears to our cells.

Prayers and blessings on the other hand, carry a lot of positive vibrations. These positive vibrations are also transported by water and our breath (one more reason why breathing exercises are critically important) to our cells. These positive vibrations help us (and those around us) heal from within at the same time negating some of the harmful effects of negative vibrations.

Vibrations in "Negative" words & thoughts are more powerful than positive words:

Unfortunately, our intensity increases many folds when we are upset, angry, lustful etc. Thus words and even thoughts generated in that state of consciousness elicit lot more stronger vibrations. The water element present in our body carry's these strong vibrations to our cells resulting in not only physically damaging us from inside, but also sending these vibrations to people around us. For this reason alone, avoiding the company of people who routinely indulge in negative behavior is highly advisable.

Intensity is the key behind vibrations:

Words are made up of sounds and some sounds carry higher vibrations than others. The strength in vibrations depends on the intensity of words, emotions or thoughts. Choosing positive, caring and loving words and speaking them with right intensity can send positive vibrations within and around us.

Prayers and blessings typically contains highly positive words and sounds that has the potential to really uplift one's physical and mental state. As a holistic health coach, I highly recommend sending blessings to our body, food, water, people around us and those that have passed on with pure heart and a strong intensity. The more we pray for ourselves and others, the more positive vibrations we spread in the planet.

Conclusion:

Let us make sure that the positive vibrations that we generate through prayers don't go to waste. Fulfillment of Prayers doesn't happen in a vacuum and we must do our effort as well. Without doing the needful effort, prayer cannot be answered, however heartfelt they might be. So if the prayers are not getting answered let's look within and ask "Am I putting the needful effort from myside?" "What else can I do?". In terms of health, it means taking responsibility of our own health and taking concrete steps to improve our diet and lifestyle.
