For those of us who are in northern California at this time, the air quality is extremely bad due to raging wildfires. As soon as you step outside or even open the windows you can feel the heavy smoke enter your nostrils. All this smoke has to be processed and neutralized by our liver. One of the best ways we can help our liver is by consuming more vitamin C rich foods/drinks. Vitamin C is needed for both phase I and II of liver detoxification process to neutralize the toxins entering our body.
Here is a Vitamin C rich juice recipe that you can consume till our sky clears up.
Ingredients:
5-6 stalks of celery
3 medium carrots
2 medium granny smith apples
1 medium orange bell pepper
1 medium red bell pepper
1/2 lemon
1/2 inch ginger root
1 inch turmeric root (optional)
Directions:
Run everything through the juicer and slowly drink it. Alternatively, you can also blend this in a blender with 12 oz water and have it as a smoothie.
